Haiku heal the head

Centering the senses’ bliss

In a joyful heart

Pure pear petal snow

Nourishes the hungry earth

Fattening fall fruits

Guthrie’s songs singing
Has red nostalgia dancing
A funeral march
The double cherry

Pink petals open to drink

Soft early spring rain

A Blooming Explodes

A blooming explodes

Against the clear

Blue limitless sky

It is spring

Renewal is everywhere

Rebirth is everywhere

As the new day dawns

I realize

That there are many things

I want to do

So many things

I told myself

“I’ll do that later

After I …………..”

Are never going to happen

Because my days

Are not limitless

Like this clear sky

But there is beauty in sunsets

And fall has the colors

Of the dying leaves.

Her Hair

He held her hair
Her long blonde hair
That shone in the sun
Hair that will

Never again

Be combed
brushed braided
by her mother’s hands
He held her hair
While she twisted away
And tried to escape
He held her hair
As her innocent eyes
Rolled wide with terror

He held her hair
He drew his second gun

He held her hair
 pulled the trigger

He held her hair
 Her long blonde hair
That shone in the sun
to serve his god.
Pear petals driven by March's late lion north wind
Form
White whirlwinds
That dervish dance
Across the cold concrete
Before my laughing eyes.

Life aglow

The will to be

Let your Light set darkness free.

Embrace the flame,

Push back the cold.

Defy old death,

Let Life take hold!
